Lily Clingan-Darack began dancing at the age of seven with Luis Abella in St. Augustine, Florida. She trained classically in ballet, pointe, modern, and contemporary and continued her studies at Boston Ballet School during the summer for three years and because of her commitment and artistic growth she was awarded one of eight dancers selected for their full-time pre-professional training program. She has gone on to attend the Boston Conservatory at Berklee as a scholarship recipient and will graduate in spring 2020. At the Conservatory she trained intensely with renowned dancer and faculty members, which include Marcus Shulkind, Joy Davis, and Kurt Douglas under the direction of Tommy Neblett. She has a passion for contemporary ballet, pointe, CounterTechnique, and Gaga, and her influence has been shaped by copious training in release technique, Limon, and Horton technique. Throughout her education she performed works by acclaimed choreographers such as Kate Weare, Mark Morris, Yury Yanowsky, Zoe Scofield, and Jennifer Archibald on the Boston Conservatory Mainstage. Lily continued her training throughout her years in school by attending intensives at Mark Morris Dance Group and Henny Jurriëns in Amsterdam, Netherlands, as well as CounterTechnique workshops. She has also spent many years studying acting and musical theater, and has starred in numerous productions such as Kitty in Pride and Prejudice, Mary Tilford in The Children’s Hour, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Lily has spent the majority of her life dedicated to the performing arts and will continue to follow her passion in the pursuit of dance.
